Solving Slitherlink with a pencil has a different rhythm from playing on a screen. You can sketch tentative lines, mark impossible edges, and keep the whole loop in view without notifications getting in the way.

How to download a printable puzzle
- Open the Print Studio.
- Choose a grid size: 5×5, 7×7, 10×10, 12×12, or 15×15.
- Choose Easy, Medium, or Hard.
- Select Generate Puzzle to get another puzzle with those settings.
- Check the on-screen sheet, then select Download PDF.
Changing the size or difficulty automatically requests a matching new puzzle. The preview and the downloaded file therefore use the settings currently highlighted on the page—not the puzzle you generated previously.
Which paper size should I use?
The PDF page size is chosen automatically. Small grids remain comfortable on compact A5 paper, while larger grids receive the extra drawing space of A4.
The puzzle sheet uses a high-resolution 300 DPI render with a white background, black clues, and generous writing space. Branding is deliberately quiet: only slitherlinks.com appears on the sheet—there is no large logo competing with the puzzle.
Recommended printer settings
- Paper: match the PDF page size (A5 or A4).
- Scale: Actual size or 100%.
- Orientation: Portrait.
- Color: Black and white is sufficient.
- Double-sided printing: turn it off when you want a separate sheet for every puzzle.
If your printer does not accept A5, you can print an A5 file on A4 paper with “Actual size” selected and trim or keep the surrounding margin.

5×5 or 7×7: learning the rules
These compact grids make it easy to see how every line affects the single loop. They work well for first-time solvers, short breaks, and classroom introductions.
10×10: a balanced everyday puzzle
10×10 gives patterns room to develop without taking over the page. It is a good default if you already know the rules and want a portable A5 challenge.
12×12 or 15×15: a longer session

Troubleshooting
The page still says “Print / Save as PDF”
You may have an older tab or cached version open. Reload the Print Studio, then look for the current Download PDF button.
The downloaded puzzle does not match my selection
Wait for the new preview to appear after changing size or difficulty. The download button is unavailable while a matching puzzle is being prepared.
The puzzle looks too small on paper
Use the paper size stored in the PDF and print at Actual size or 100%. Avoid options such as “Multiple pages per sheet.”
